Simultaneous Interpreting I English-Finnish-English, 5 cr

The course unit introduces the basics of simultaneous interpreting, exploring both whispered interpreting and technology-assisted interpreting. The course unit includes language-specific interpreting exercises. The student will practice preparing for an interpreting assignment. They will also learn to use the prima vista technique as a part of the preparation for an interpreting assignment and in simultaneous interpreting situations. Lastly, the student will learn about professional behaviour in the interpreting booth and other collegial activities.
