Opintojaksolla tutustutaan omaan tutkimusalaan ja laaditaan pro gradu -tutkielman tutkimussuunnitelma, alustava dispositio sekä omaan aiheeseen liittyvä kirjallisuusluettelo. Kurssilla myös kirjoitetaan seminaariesitelmä ja esitetään se ryhmälle sekä kommentoidaan toisen opiskelijan työtä.
