This course unit introduces and explores:
- the ways in which law is taught and studied at Tampere University
- the importance of the legal system in societal decision-making
- law as a guiding force for governmental bodies, companies, and individuals
- the Finnish legal system, its structure and systematics, and the associated central concepts
- the Finnish legal system’s relations with international and EU law
- the study of law and the different ways to approach law from the perspective of science
- the different branches of law and their relations to each other
- the basic premises of solving legal problems: sources of law and their study
- the main characteristics and central concepts of business, tax, and public law.
