- Basics of continuum mechanics and mathematical preliminaries of Cartesian tensors, including: the general equation structure (Tonti diagram), stress- and strain state, invariants, additive decomposition of stress and strain into isotropic and deviatoric parts, balance equations.
- Different types of constitutive
behaviour.
Linear elastic material, isotropic, transverse isotropic and orthotropic symmetries.
The concept of strain energy.
Introduction to plasticity models, yield criteria, flow and hardening rules. Viscoplasticity.
Continuum damage mechanics. Linear viscoelastic models. Creep models.
