An interdisciplinary addiction research seminar is coordinated by Adjunct Professor Kuusisto and Professor Atte Oksanen. Its significance in the area of addiction research is noteworthy in the national context, and it provides doctoral researchers with sound expertise in studying addiction. Addiction and treatment research has an established status as one of the focal areas within the Tampere University and Faculty of Social Sciences (SOC). Many disciplines are of relevance to addiction research, notably social work, psychology, social psychology, sociology, gender studies, and health and nursing sciences. We welcome multidisciplinary addiction research throughout Tampere University. Networks with other national research institutions on addiction in Finland strengthen the team’s national collaboration (University of Helsinki, Centre for Research on Addiction, Control and Governance, CEACG; National Institute of Health and Welfare, THL; the Finnish Foundation for Alcohol Studies) and support the implementation of research in this field.
