Master's Programme in Philosophy

Learning outcomes

After completing Master studies students have deepened their familiarity with a few subfields of philosophy. They are able to critically evaluate philosophical views and arguments. They are familiar with the methods of philosophical research, including their problems and limits. Students are able to discuss philosophical problems scientifically and prepare a clear and coherent philosophical study. They have deepened their familiarity with one or more disciplines on their own choice.

Content

Studies in philosophy included in Master studies deepen the knowledge that the student has acquired in the Bachelor’s programme. Particularly, they strengthen the familiarity with the theme of the master’s thesis that the student has chosen. While writing the thesis, the student practices scientific discussion and clear and coherent presentation in one special field. The seminars improve the skills in philosophical writing, in oral presentation, and in critical discussion. On the student’s own choice, Master studies may contain studies in another discipline.
