The Faculty of Communication Sciences (COMS) is a nationally unique multidisciplinary educational and research environment that combines the traditions and expertise of the humanities, natural sciences, technology research, social sciences and theatre.

The Faculty educates experts for the increasingly mediated and rapidly changing information society. These experts go on to work in fields that require profound cultural knowledge and an excellent understanding of praxis. In Finland, the Faculty is the leading educator of journalists and one of only two institutions that offer university-level studies in acting.
