The course will be mostly online, aside the literature exam or participation in an additional module and writing a learning diary.
Course structure (mandatory):
15.1.2014-24.1.2014: Participants will review a recorded lecture in moodle and answer to questions based on it.
23.2.2014: Deadline for the course essay, predefined subjects and sources.
7.3.2014: Deadline for commenting essays of other students in moodle.
In addition you must pass a literature exam during the spring semester (Sartorius et al. (eds.) 2002: Psychiatry in society ). One can also pass the literature exam with a learning diary, but this must be discussed with the teacher (Sari Fröjd).
It is possible to replace the literature exam with a learning diary that you will write from participating in social psychiatry post-graduate module on 10.4.2014 (teaching only in finnish!).
The course will be mostly Moodle based.
You can enroll to the course by enrolling to one of the groups (practicals). Please select the group that is most suitable for you. The groups selections will be confirmed when the course starts. You don´t need to enroll to the lectures separately.

The core of the course consists of five contemporary topic seminars. The participants prepare themselves to the seminars by reading the topic text and by preparing questions on the basis of the texts. Each seminar will include expert lecture or expert debate on the text and discussion by all the participants. After each seminar the students will continue the discussion in Moodle.
