The course focuses on innovation studies and puts emphasis on knowledge and skills in economic development and innovations. During the course the various aspects of education in the society will be studied as well as the different modes of knowledge intensive functions in today's economies and innovation systems will be analysed.

Content: Organizational behaviour in educational setting provides understanding about the human behavioural aspect in an organizational setting. This course provides knowledge of social phenomena about human relation in an organization. This course emphasis students to gain deeper understanding about ethical behaviour in an organization from the prospect of individual level, the group level and the structural level. During the course, relevant theories related to organizational behaviour will be discussed.

The goal is to introduce the students to current research topics studied in the School of Education. By actively participating to the lectures the student constructs the overview of some of the ongoing research projects and the theoretical framework and/or methodological approaches applied in these cases.
Content :
During the course the student becomes acquainted with various research projects carried out by the postgraduate students in the School of Education. The lectures include presentations of research projects, group discussions and reflective written final assignment.
Modes of study: lectures, discussions and 4 short essays based on the lectures (minimum of one page/essay). Detailed information for themes and ideas concerning the essays will be given by lecturers.
Study materials/literature: Articles will be delivered by lecturers either beforehand by e-mail or in the beginning of each lecture.

Content: This seminar deals with the different interpration of the concept of lifelong learning and on the lifelong learning policy in Finland and Europe. The second topic, which will be handled in this seminar, is "Adult education". Within this topic the students are introduced to systems and purposes of adult education in different countries.
