After completing the course the student will be able to:
-evaluate and utilise research reports on psychiatric epidemiology
-discuss the concept of mental health and its utilisation in research and mental health work
-discuss the effect of culture on understanding mental health and the effect of lay concepts of mental health on the situation of people with mental health problems in society
-discuss the specific ethical concerns in mental health research
-avoid pitfalls in communicating mental health research findings through the media
-make a viable research plan on mental health topics

The course will be completed entirely in the Moodle learning environment. Independent working (ca 135 hrs). Organized non-stop. For approval, all the tasks have to be completed within three months from the date of enrolment. Teaching language: English.
