Learning outcomes

After completing the course unit the students have a basic knowledge of citizens? possibilities to participate and influence energy projects on national and international level. The students are acquainted with means and arenas available to citizens in influencing energy projects as well as citizens? perceptions concerning their own possibilities to influence. The course unit focuses especially on the role of the citizenry and civic movements in the processes of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) concerning the final disposal of nuclear waste and road projects.

Contents

Possibilities and constraints of civic participation and influencing in important projects in the field of energy policy and environmental policy.
