Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will have
- developed some of the core competencies needed for working in multilingual and multicultural teams in the workplace.
- gained a better understanding of group communication, interaction and dialogue.
- improved their ability to better manage and resolve conflict.
- attained a critical understanding of how roles, communication styles and learning preferences may help or hinder group work.
- become aware of diversity issues beyond nationality.

Contents

In order to attain the intended learning outcomes, this course uses participatory, enactive and arts-based teaching methods. The students will engage in narratives, exercises, simulations, and reflective/critical discussion. Independent work will consist of readings (including research articles and literary extracts) and written tasks and a learning diary.

Teaching methods

The average workload for a student in a 5 credit course is 135 hours (5cr x 27h), no more than half of which can be contact hours. The course may extend over 2 periods. The distribution of hours between classwork, online work and other independent work will be provided later.
