Learning outcomes

The objective is to make the students familiar with the central trends of multicultural education, enabling them to grow into societal actors as well as experts and operators in multilingual and multicultural education.

Contents

School is analysed as part of a culturally diversifying and globalising society. The course deals with the teacher's role as a cultural and religious interpreter, as a developer of multilingual practices in an operating culture that supports growth and learning in multicultural and multilingual schools. Furthermore, the central content includes the importance of the language community and family, which supports learning and promotes the pupils' well-being, as well as the role of peer networks in a teacher's work.
