General description

Every doctoral student has to participate in a doctoral seminar group relevant to his/her doctoral dissertation topic during a minimum of one academic year.

Learning outcomes

The aim of the seminars is to develop the student?s ability in scientific writing, in preparing and giving scientific presentations, to participate in scientific discussions and in how to give and receive critical comments and use it one?s own work.

Contents

In the doctoral seminars the following matters are discussed: the PhD research plans of each student, articles and other texts relevant to the topics of the PhD dissertations. Even other literature in the field may be discussed.

Further information

A doctoral student can participate in more than one doctoral seminar if the topic of the dissertation requires this kind of collaboration. This has to be agreed upon with the PhD supervisor.
