Upon successful completion of the course, students will have: - become familiar with various theories and cultural perspectives on intercultural competence - analyzed intercultural interactions using theories - developed an understanding of context - evaluated their own intercultural competence and made a personal development plan - ascertained and practiced intercultural communication skills which promote intercultural learning and improve intercultural interactions
Contents
In order to achieve the intended learning outcomes, the course will consist of readings, discussion, group work, experiential exercises, a learning diary and other assignments.
Teaching methods
The average workload for a student in a 5 credit course is 135 hours (5cr x 27h), no more than half of which can be contact hours. The course may extend over 2 periods. The distribution of hours between classwork, online work and other independent work will be provided later.
