Learning outcomes

After the course, the student can:
- Explain the basics of genetics and different modes of inheritance.
- Understand how genetic variation evolves and which factors influence it.
- Understand the basics of population genetics.
- consider the role of different variables that affect the phenotypic outcome.
- Perform basic analysis in the field of genetics.

Contents

Review of the biological principles in the maintenance and evolution of genetic information. Basics of classical genetics, cytogenetics, population genetics, and quantitative genetics.

Optional 2 cu part will include computer exercises on genetics applications.
