General description
This course is meant for students who need more practice and support in order to develop their written academic skills in English.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, students are expected to be able to: - use different reading strategies when reading academic texts - understand the basic structure of academic texts - analyse and understand more complex sentence structures - use different comprehension strategies to deal with difficult vocabulary - reflect on their own learning strategies and experiment with new ones
Contents
Students will discuss and analyse different academic texts in an attempt to become familiar with academic conventions and structures. Students will also be asked to produce short texts and reflect on their own learning processes.
