Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will have a thorough understanding of the basic principles of subtitling and will be able to apply them independently. The student will be able to use subtitling software and produce subtitles that follow the conventions of subtitling.

Contents

The course unit consists of lectures on the theory of subtitling and of practical exercises. During the course unit, the student will independently produce a set of subtitles and write a commentary on the translation process.
The course unit will be carried out in multilingual groups. In addition to the group meetings, each student will receive guidance and personal feedback on their translation from a teacher of their B working language.
