Yleiskuvaus
Organized by two universities, TUT and UTA/IMT. The main emphasis of the TUT course, arranges every second year, is bacterial biotechnology, and the UTA/IMT course is about the same of eukaryotes.
Osaamistavoitteet
To teach students to go beyond text books and to study scientific literature in molecular biology and
biotechnology with special emphasis on eukaryotes.
Sisältö
Students will study literature in trends in eukaryotes biotechnology and present what they have learned from molecular evolution techniques and applications of nucleic acids, modification of proteins and their applications in measurements and related studies.
Toteutustavat
The first part consists on 16 hours so called journal club presentations and the latter part is discussions and presentations on modern molecular technologies to study protein structure and function and applications thereof.
Vaadittavat opintosuoritukset
Report. Each participant makes analyses of selected journal articles. Background reading is required for the
discussions of the latter part.
