Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to use and understand short and simply structured Finnish expressions that concern some of the most common everyday situations (e.g. introducing themselves, buying and paying, describing people and objects, location and moving around). In addition, they will be able to give accounts of matters and situations that have happened in the past, and understand similar accounts.

Contents

During the course, students are acquainted with the basics of grammar and the core vocabulary. Students engage in different kinds of structural and communicative exercises that focus on the topics covered.

Group instruction: 26 hours
Independent work: approximately 28 hours

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Assessment is based on participation in the course and the final examination.
