VENS11 Sociolinguistics 5 ECTS

Learning outcomes

Once students have completed the course, they will be acquainted with key sociolinguistic concepts and research methods and be familiar with Russian sociolinguistic theories and traditions. Students will also understand the interaction between language and its social context and be able to analyse, e.g. multilingualism, diglossia and the interplay between language and gender.

Study of main sociolinguistic theories and analysis of texts.
