The seminar introduces the process and structure of the master?s thesis. During the seminar, students prepare a research plan for their thesis and present the progress of their thesis work. They also critically read and comment the work of other students.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the course, the students will - know the aim, process, types and the structure of the master?s thesis - be familiar with ethical questions related to thesis writing - be able to write and present a research plan - be able to present and discuss the progress of his/her thesis work - be able comment on other students? thesis work critically and utilize feedback given by other - know the most common research practices in public and global health - be able to apply them in writing his/her Master?s thesis

Contents - Purpose and format of the thesis - Ethical questions related to scientific writing, e.g. plagiarism issues - General format, contents and process of writing a research plan - Presentation of the research plan, discussion and feedback - Presentation of one?s own thesis work - Reading and critically commenting seminar papers written by other students
