Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will have
- attained an understanding of the concepts of language, communication and culture
- increased their awareness of the role of these concepts in intercultural interaction.
- developed a critical understanding of the field of Intercultural Communication

Contents

In order to attain the intended learning outcomes, the course combines experiential intercultural learning, reflective/critical discussion and participatory lectures. Independent work will consist of readings (including research articles and literary extracts) and written tasks and a learning diary.

Teaching methods

The average workload for a student in a 5 credit course is 135 hours (5cr x 27h), no more than half of which can be contact hours. The course may extend over 2 periods. The distribution of hours between classwork, online work and other independent work will be provided later.

Numeric 1-5.
Grades on a scale of 1-5 (max.), based on active participation in class, a learning diary and other assignments.
