Learning outcomes

After completing the course students can describe the development of gametes, fertilization and different stages of human embryonic and fetal development. In addition, students can outline the basics of organ development and common developmental disorders as well as consequences of different gene and chromosomal changes to the development.

Contents

Students will learn gametogenesis, ovulation and fertilization. Zygote development, implantation and development of embryonic layers. Main steps of embryonic and fetal development. Development of placenta and fetal membrane. Disorders in embryonic development. Organ development and common disorders.
