Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will have a thorough understanding of the principles that apply to producing legally valid translations. The student will be able to produce legally valid translations from German into Finnish, recognise translation issues related to culture and language pairs, and will also able to solve these issues by using supplementary materials and tools.

In order for the student to pass the course unit, the student must complete the competence test and exercises to a commendable standard. If the student does not meet the requirements set for authorised translation, but otherwise completes the course in a successful manner, the student may receive ECTS credits for the course under the course unit code MVKS54–56.
