Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will

- have a basic knowledge in Chinese language and culture
- master the common tone changes
- be able to communicate orally in short ordinary situations; greetings, apologies, farewells, introductions; family, nationality and numbers
- know the similarities and differences between Chinese and his / her native language
- master basic words related to daily life and school and is able to talk about daily life with other students
- be able to read simple texts with the help of the pinyin system and recognise some characters
- be able to write simple characters

Contents

Basic pronunciation, grammar, listening pronunciation and tone practices, conversations for daily communication and various language skills supplementary exercises.

Teaching methods

Tutorials 52 hours, independent work 56 hours.
