Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the doctoral student understands the significance of communicating about science and research in different forums and to different audiences. S/he is widely knowledgeable about the general starting points, goals, preconditions and practices of scientific communication. S/he wants to communicate about science and her/his own field and research and applies the principles of responsible scientific communication to her/his own work.

Contents

The courses organised under this heading examine the different aspects of scientific communication. The courses deal with the scientific, social and global dimensions of communication and its general preconditions and characteristics. It is also possible to address different themes in scientific communication, such as scientific writing and reporting, oral presentations and online communication. The course may include practicing scientific communication, including giving and benefitting from feedback.
