MVKS65 The Versatile Translator 5 ECTS

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will have an even more thorough understanding of what multilingual communication is. The student will be able to describe their chosen field in a broader context and explain what type of work and research areas it includes in addition to traditional translation.
The student will be able to gather information on the latest areas of multilingual communication from a variety of both scientific and professional sources. The student will also be able to critically assess information sources. Furthermore, the student will master the principles of some novel topics in multilingual communication, and they will be able to familiarise themselves with various topics.

Contents

The course unit explores machine translation, search engine optimisation, transcreation, as well as other areas chosen by the students. The student will read articles on these subjects, participate in discussions during class meetings, practise different techniques, write reports, and give an oral presentation.
