MTTTA6 Regression analysis 5 ECTS

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student can fit a linear regression model to empirical data and can derive and prove the basic results of linear regression analysis including its sum-of-squares decomposition. Additionally the student can perform linear regression analysis based on matrix operations with some statistical software.

Contents

Linear regression analysis with one explanatory variable, graphical inspection, defining a linear model, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, specific regression models, problems related to building a regression model.
