General description
Students will widen and deepen their knowledge of business English so that they are able to communicate effectively in working life.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, students are expected to be able to: - read critically texts relating to a wide range of business activities as well as academic texts in their fields; - write memos, reports, cover letters, presentation abstracts, emails relating to business -participate actively and constructively in negotiations in which problems are solved and agreements are made; - perform well in a job interview; - write an effective CV; - give a well-structured presentation of a demanding subject taking into consideration the needs and expectations of a professional audience.
Contents
To achieve the learning outcomes, students will: - read texts dealing with different aspects of business and the economy; - collect and assimilate terminology relevant to their own field; - practice writing various texts of a business nature; - prepare and hold negotiations and job interviews; - prepare and give a presentation.
