General description

This study module focuses in different game or internet design research issues, methods and practices.

Learning outcomes

After completing the module, student will be able to:
- identify and analyse the key theoretical and epistemological foundations of design research
- understand design research examples in games and internet research
- evaluate different methods in design research
- apply design research methods in games and internet design and research

Contents

The relationship between design and research; different approaches to design research: research on design, research for design and research through design; design philosophy and critical design research; speculative design; user studies and design; relationship between design methods; design research and interactive media, game design research.
