General description
Consists of STYP3A Community Resources 3 ECTS and STYP3B Global and Local Spectrum of Social Work 2 ECTS.
Learning outcomes
The student perceives social work as community-based, local and global activity. The student is aware of the cultural and societal differences between social work environments and approaches, and knows about different forms of community social work and their conceptual and scientific background.
STYP3A: The student knows about the conceptual and scientific background of community social work, and is familiar with different modes and methods of work with communities.
STYP3B: The student perceives social work as a phenomena consisting of both local and global pursuits and action. The student is aware of the cultural and societal differences between social work environments and approaches, and can identify his or her own location in relation to them.
Contents
STYP3A: Starting points, concepts, and interpretations of community social work especially in Finnish and Nordic contexts.
STYP3B: Local and global diversity of social work, links between local and global (e. g. in social justice issues), international/global social work and its connectedness with local social work practices
