General description

Optional course in advanced level studies in "Governance and Policy in Education" study direction.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student will
• Know the change trends and starting points of higher education and internationalisation in globalising environment
• Understand what changes caused by internationalisation have ment for teachers' and students' position, teaching practice, curriculum, and higher education institutions. Especially in Finnish higher education but also comparing conditions globally
• Master the actual questions and practices concerning higher education research and internationalisation

Contents

The purpose of the course is to become experienced in higher education, higher education research and internationalisation from diverse perspectives. Like from globalisation and global mobility, higher education policy and institutional cultures, international programmes and curricula, and especially from the viewpoint of different actors like teachers and students.
