Learning outcomes

After the courses under this heading student will
- be able to distinguish between different approaches to ethnographical research
- understand main currents and traditions in ethnographical research as well as the main challenges facing the ethnographer
- be better equipped to employ suitable analytical approaches in his or her ethnographical research project

Contents

Courses under this heading focus on the variety of ethnographic research traditions and their somewhat various foci in different disciplines. Courses may cover the phases and special questions concerning field work and the definition of “the field”, research ethics, data generation and selection as well as reporting and writing practices in ethnography.
