Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will be familiar with non-fiction translation within different disciplines in Finland from the 19th century to the present day. The student will also be familiar with Finnish non-fiction literature prior to the 19th century. In addition, the student will be able to assess the importance of translations for Finnish science, literature, and culture, as well as for the development of scientific expression in Finnish.
