Learning outcomes
Students will know the historical development of cultural studies, its key concepts and discussions. They understand the different ways in which culture is understood, mobilized and analyzed in contemporary socio-cultural realities. The course also invites students to consider the implications of crucial theoretical debates and encourages students to critically discuss the key terms, concepts, ideas, and approaches in cultural studies.
Contents
The study module consists of introductory lectures (5 ETCS) and workshops (5 ETCS). During the workshops students introduce and explore cultural texts, artfacts or processes from their own everyday life. Through the study assignments students learn to conceptualize and contextualize their experiences, and to connect these to larger social, political and economic trajectories.

Some places available for master level students from other Master's Degree Programmes and exchange students. Students outside the Cultural Studies programme can complete 5 ECTS (lectures 2 ECTS and book exam or essay 3 ECTS).
