Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will have a thorough understanding of the concepts used in an area of research on the English lexicon and the way in which these concepts may be applied to the study of both individual words and more extensive language samples. The student will be able to use key dictionaries, corpora, and thesauri as source material for the study of the English lexicon. The student will be able to critically assess and compare dictionaries and thesauri.
