Learning outcomes

After the course, the student understands the meaning of the human behavior in accomplishing organizational goals. The student recognizes the essential aspects affecting people?s attitudes, motivation and communication and is able to develop solutions into the challenging situations at the workplace.

Contents

Work motivation, work-related attitudes, teams and groups in organizations, organizational learning and culture, the most central leadership theories and viewpoints, power-related questions in organizations.

Recommended time of study: the first year.
The students of the Degree Programme in Business Studies participate in the lecture course (Option 1).
The course can be accomplished in three optional ways:
Option 1. The lecture course is offered in the third period.
Option 2. The independent study course in English is offered in the second, fourth and summer periods.
Option 3. The independent study course in Finnish is offered in the second, fourth and summer periods.
