General description

An introduction to the application of economics to health care.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student will
- be familiar with the concepts and approach of health economics
- know the basics of the main evaluation methods of health economics
- be able to find and evaluate health economic literature and scientific articles
- be able to evaluate the use of health-economic approaches to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of some of the different health systems around the world

- Essential evaluation methods of health economics

Lectures (10 hours), exercises in Moodle, group work, seminar (10 hours) and individual essay.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Exercises are evaluated pass/fail. The seminar work and the individual essay are graded 1-5 and this will be the final grade of the course.
