General description

Information visualization focuses on presenting data and information in the most efficient ways in various contexts. The course deals with the different ways of presenting information in static and interactive means. In addition to visual methods, the course covers spoken, auditory, haptic and olfactory information presentation methods, including their combined use. The course covers both generic principles and domain specific, such as industrial, media and healthcare specific information presentation needs. Specific topics include XR visualizations techniques and AI approaches for information visualization.

The course includes numerous practical exercises, including a mini-project done in groups. All hands-on assignments are related to real-world information visualization problems.
