Contents
In the thesis seminar the student plans and presents the research plan, methods for data collection and the plan for collecting the data and analysing it, and later presents the results and the final research report. During the thesis seminar the students participate in assessing research plans, discuss the topics of research design, philosophical and methodological premises, selection of research methods, issues of research ethics and also familiarise themselves with the scientific discussion on the field. During the study module the student implements the independent research focusing on a phenomenon in educational science.

Opiskelija on suorittanut ensimmäisen työskentelyvaiheen, kun hän on osallistunut pro gradu -seminaariin, hahmottanut tutkimusongelmat ja perehtynyt keskeiseen aikaisempaan tutkimukseen ja teoriaan. Opiskelija on esittänyt realistisen etenemissuunnitelman ja työn ohjaaja katsoo, että on mahdollista siirtyä seuraavaan työskentelyvaiheeseen.
Toisen vaiheen suorituksen edellytys on tutkielman kokonaisuuden hahmottuminen, tutkielmakäsikirjoituksen sen hetkisen version esittely ja aktiivinen osallistuminen pro gradu seminaarissa.
Tutkielma on hyväksytty.
Tampereen yliopiston opintojen arviointisäännön 29 §:n mukaisesti kypsyysnäyte on joko essee tai opinnäytteen tiivistelmä. Kun kypsyysnäytteen sisältö ja kieliasu arvioidaan, kypsyysnäyte on opiskelijan opinnäytteeseen pohjautuva essee. Essee suoritetaan sähköisenä tenttinä, tieteenalayksikön yleisenä tenttipäivänä tai muuna mahdollisesti erikseen sovittuna ajankohtana. Kun kypsyysnäytteellä tarkastetaan vain sisältö, pääsääntöisesti opinnäytteen tiivistelmä toimii kypsyysnäytteenä. Tiivistelmä kirjoitetaan tällöin koulusivistyskielellä ja opinnäytteen ollessa muun kielinen opinnäytteen kielellä.
A maturity test based on the thesis is compulsory for all degree students and is taken after the completion of the thesis. Students with Finnish/Swedish as the language of their elementary school education will write the essay in Finnish/Swedish accordingly. If the language of a student’s elementary school education is not Finnish/Swedish, the maturity test is taken in English.
The maturity test is a written examination taken as a general examination or as an electronic exam. The main aim of the maturity test is to demonstrate conversance with the topic of the thesis and, when necessary, language proficiency.
