Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will have a thorough understanding of the principles that apply to producing legally valid translations. The student will be able to produce legally valid translations from Russian into Finnish, recognise translation issues related to culture and language pairs, and will also able to solve these issues by using supplementary materials and tools.

The course unit explores documents written in Finnish and Russian, the principles that apply to producing legally valid translations, and their application.

Further information

In order for the student to pass the course unit, the student must complete the competence test and exercises to a commendable standard. If the student does not meet the requirements set for authorised translation, but otherwise successfully completes the course, the student may receive ECTS credits for the course under the course unit code MVKS54–56.
