Learning outcomes

Having completed the study unit, the student is aware of the problems of the standard representation of IR theories and has received an updated view of recent trends in the theoretical discussions. The student will understand the role and significance of metatheory in the study of International Relations and they can compare the pros and cons of various IR theories.
