Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide insights of the recent and ongoing research and research methodology in administrative sciences and in multidisciplinary settings. The emphasis is paid for the interaction between empirical data, concepts and theory. Students will learn how to review literature, apply theories and concepts and how to build up innovative research settings. After this course the students are able to build up and assess critically research process and research settings in the field of public administration and management.

Contents

The course consist an introductory lecture (3 h) and case examples on research projects (17 h) provided by visiting faculty, senior project researchers and PhD students working in the field of administrative sciences and management studies. Researchers will highlight the practical decisions, solutions and challenges related to different stages of their research process. The students will write a learning diary in which they will reflect the lectures and the literature provided by the lecturers. In addition students will propose a research setting related to their own research theme.
