Learning outcomes

After the course a student is expected to possess new specialized knowledge on some topic related to the conceptual modeling or data management.

Contents

Possible topics include the basics of conceptual modelling, ontologies, the methods of conceptual modelling, concept schema languages, the use of concept schemas in the implementation of a database, information management software, the definition and management of databases based on different paradigms, the implementation of databases, special applications in information management (e.g. OLAP, XML etc.) among others.
