Learning outcomes
After the course the student will - be aware of major debates about education and schooling in different historical and cultural contexts, related to transforming struggles about economical, political and environmental hegemony - be able to engage in idea-historical discussion and pedagogical argumentation about different meanings and functions of education
Contents
Lectures (also foreign scholars) and group work on transformation of discourses and debates on education in different contexts; selection of Finnish and international book chapters and journal articles; reflections on cross-cultural cases related to students´ research orientation.
