Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will master the note-taking techniques of consecutive interpreting in certain specialised communicative situations. The student will be able to interpret longer speech sequences in a comprehensive and fluent way, make strategic interpreting decisions, and analyse and justify their choices. The student will master the technique and terminology required of an interpreter when preparing for an interpreting assignment on a specialised subject. In addition, the student will be able to guide and advise the client on matters related to typical translation services in specialised subject translation, on the conditions for successful interpreting, and on matters relating to the interpreter's tasks.

Contents

The course unit explores specialised consecutive interpreting, such as consecutive interpreting in business-life situations or in the field of technology.
