Student - understands audiences´ role in the media culture and different audience theories - challenges of digitalization for citizenship and participation in the media culture - knows the basic perspectives, concepts, theories and goals of civic media education - is able to apply media education in different educational settings and design a learning environment for enhancing civic media education
Contents
The course focuses on audiences' and citizens' role in the changing media culture, concepts of active audience, participation culture, engaged and emerging citizen and media- and multiliteracies. Students will enhance their media education competence for empowering children and young people through meaningful and critical participation in contemporary and digital media environment.
