Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to use and understand different kinds of Finnish expressions that concern everyday life. Students will also be able to describe some of the most important things about themselves, their surroundings, studies, plans and other corresponding topics, and understand descriptions given on such topics. In addition, students will be able to understand at least the main points of short and intelligible written texts on familiar themes, and be able to write short descriptions of their own life and brief situations and events.

Contents

During the course, students are acquainted with basic Finnish grammar and core vocabulary, and they engage in structural and communicative exercises focusing on the topics covered.

Group instruction: 52 hours
Independent work: approximately 56 hours
