An internship or work placement for 3 months in the field of public or international health.
Learning outcomes
After completing an internship the student will know how to use the skills learned and knowledge gained in Public or International Health studies. The internship will also give students the ability to evaluate work life practices with the help of knowledge achieved in his/her studies. The student will be able to analyze his/her own knowledge-level and practical skills, as well as recognize areas where further development is needed.
Contents
The internship is composed on the following components: 1. An internship information session 2. An internship in a workplace related to public or international health (3 months) and making an internship plan 3. Composing a written report on the internship and giving a presentation in an internship seminar.

The Work Practicum is composed of the information session, the internship and the internship seminar. The required documents and presentations include the written internship plan, the internship report and the presentation and evaluation discussion in the internship seminar.

Students must write the plan and the report of their work practicum. Detailed instructions for writing the report are available in the Moodle.

Pass/fail.
Further information
The student has to participate in the information session before the internship. The internship plan and a possible application for financial support for the internship have to be approved at the School of Health Sciences beforehand. The longer internship (10 ECTS) can also be carried out as an international internship if applicable to the studies. Funding for international internship in Erasmus countries in Europe can be applied for from the Erasmus programme (International workplacement).
